This intimate bohemian wedding in Joshua tree was held at the cutest Airbnb, Palominos Ranch. We absolutely love desert weddings, and Joshua Tree weddings are always some of our favorites. There’s something truly magical about desert weddings that make you really appreciate life, practice gratitude, and be open to new experiences. Especially in the seasons when it’s cooler out! See this guide we wrote on when we think the best time of year to get married in Joshua Tree is.
How did you and Tim meet?
“Tim and I met when we were in first grade. His cousin was my best friend at the time. Tim and I remained good friends through high school and after, even when Tim was in the United States Navy and stationed in San Diego, California. In November 2012, I took a trip to visit Tim in Pasadena, California. We spent the week together and realized we were in love with each other. I was living in Ohio at the time. I went back to Ohio, bought a one way plane ticket, and I moved in with Tim in California on February 12, 2013. We have been together ever since!”
How did Tim propose to you?
“Tim and I talked about getting engaged about a month before the proposal. I picked out my ring and I knew it was going to happen, I just didn’t know when. On June 6, 2020, Tim and I drove out to the middle of the desert (near Coyote Springs, Nevada) to stargaze (with our dog, Archie). As we were getting ready to head back home (Las Vegas), Tim got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Of course I said yes! Tim, Archie, and I had a little family hug and kiss and then drove home (it was almost midnight)! “
This wedding was a particularly fun one for us. We had been chatting with this bride for more than two years, and it was just so rewarding to see these lovebirds finally tie the knot. They know from the very beginning they wanted to get married in Joshua Tree and booked our team before they even had their venue secured. The plus with getting married in Joshua Tree is that there’s so many venues and gorgeous converted spaces to say your nuptials. And Palominos Ranch was the perfect spot for these babes.
This venue is multifunctional. It is often used for yoga retreats, as well as intimate weddings like the one we documented. It has an airy ranch style layout that has absolutely everything you need for a magical wedding. It’s also a very short drive to town so you can always grab things close by. That’s one of our favorite things about Joshua Tree weddings … is that you feel super remote but you’re actually quite close to civilization. It gives the best of both worlds!
We absolutely loved this wedding and can’t wait to be back in Joshua Tree for another wedding! This laid back and relaxed day was the perfect addition to our busy Fall. We can’t wait to hear from you about your own wedding in Joshua Tree!
