How to Get to Valley of Fire from Las Vegas

If you are getting married at the Valley of Fire, it is important you know how to, you know, get to your own wedding. People who aren’t from Vegas kind of just assume everything is close to the Las Vegas Strip, which is false. Valley of Fire is actually an hour drive from Las Vegas so you’ll need to plan appropriately. Here are your options on how to get out there:

  1. Hire a private limo

This is normally what recommend to our couples who want a luxurious and worry-free wedding day. Our favorite! We aren’t partnered directly with any limo companies, but a lot of our past couples have used Presidential Limos and have had great experiences.

  2. Rent your own car

If you are on a budget, renting a car for the day is likely your best option. You can drive yourself to and from your wedding with very little hassle. This is not the option we generally recommend though. Not always though! This couple of ours rented a sportscar and it was one of the coolest things we’ve seen for a while.

  3. Some all-inclusive companies include transportation options for you. Be sure to ask your event planner!

Best Time of Year to get Married here

First things first, don’t consider getting married here in the Summer. Even though we have what is called a “dry heat”, it is unbearably hot in the summer. So please don’t get married from June – September – for your own sake. Check out the chart below to see what time of the year would feel good to you. Outdoor weddings are popular in Las Vegas, so you want it to feel perfect to you. Traditionally, Spring (March – May) and Fall (October – November) are our popular months to get married in Vegas.

Why this is Such a Popular Wedding Location in Las Vegas

I mean … it’s gorgeous. There is nowhere quite like it on Earth. The vast amount of red rocks surrounding you make you feel like you’ve been transported to Mars or some other planet. We love the vibe at Valley of Fire, and we promise if you decide to get married here, it’s incredibly picturesque.

Getting Your Proper Permits to get married at a Nevada State Park

Your wedding must be booked through an authorized company and is subject to availability. We recommend booking a year in advance. Valley of Fire Weddings are popular! Locations and permits are subject to the rules of the park. Like, for example, photos are not allowed on the road itself. No matter what Instagram told you!

The state of Nevada only permits a few companies per year to hold weddings in Valley of Fire, too. Insurance, business licenses and a variety of other requirements must be provided to the State of Nevada in order to be accepted. It’s a bit of an arduous process, we know.

Do not think you can just go out and do a wedding without a permit. The rangers are very active and do ask to see permits. We’ve seen people get kicked out of the park on their wedding day. This is not the experience you want for your wedding!

We are happy to connect you with great companies we’ve partnered with in the past, though.
