Hector + Dia’s Elopement @ El Dorado Dry Lake Bed and Sloan National Conservation Area in Las Vegas, Nevada

Dia and Hector eloped in Las Vegas today! You can’t tell from their joyful faces but we had blisteringly cold winds (The coldest on record for this date since 1948!) but they were SUCH troopers. They drove to Las Vegas to elope all the way from San Francisco and we had a fantastic time driving around and picking the most picturesque spots for photos. I’m glad they they trusted me. With the rain and the drive to the Dry Lake Bed it was definitely an adventure. The car may or may not have been covered in dust and mud by the end of our session.

The El Dorado Dry Lake Bed and Sloan National Conservation Area are two locations that are pretty close to each other but with vastly different sceneries. The Dry Lake Bed is just flat and cracked bare earth while Sloan National Conservation Area is lush with desert greenery (yes that’s a thing!) and picturesque mountains.

Lush greenery with mountain backdrop. What more could you ask for?!

Dia designed her bouquet herself after picking out some florals from a local store in Las Vegas and my gosh … if she wasn’t already an attorney I’d whole heartedly say that she should go into floral design!

This couple was such a pleasure to work with and were some of the most down to earth and real people I’ve met in a long time. Genuine smiles and laughter all around. We ended up talking about Game of Thrones and the (ahem) disappointing ending to the series.

After their romantic elopement they went to Gordon Ramsey’s Hell Kitchen on the Strip. When it comes to a desert elopement the most important thing is to be true to yourself and who you are as a couple. You’re choosing to elope and be with each other, so make sure it’s you.
