This lush and tropical inspired styled wedding is the epitome of luxury and contemporary contradictions. I mean – tropical and desert wedding inspiration don’t exactly go together, do they?! That’s exactly why we chose this theme. As far as Las Vegas Wedding Venues go – the El Dorado Dry Lake Bed is the perfect choice if you want a luxury elopement. Everything has to be brought in but it’s a completely blank slate as a desert wedding venue so you can have the luxury micro-wedding of your dreams. There was utmost care put into every detail of this Styled Las Vegas Elopement from Chandlers socks to the tropical pillows that brought the wedding tablescape together.
There is a common misconception that Las Vegas Weddings are all cheesy drive through and Elvis related. That is NOT the case and one of our goals of this luxury vegas elopement was to prove that you can have the destination wedding of your dreams in Las Vegas. No idea is too big or fancy. We seriously had the best team of wedding day vendors because this huge undertaking was pulled off flawlessly. During a global pandemic too (Pro tip: It’s really easy to social distance in the open desert!)
Fancy Picnics are becoming a huge thing all across the country. By trying to social distance and also with the motto of “treat yoself” it coincided perfectly with the blossoming of incredible companies like Las Vegas Picnic Parties. You can have a chic picnic anywhere of your choosing with a small group of friends or family. Super popular while we all get through 2020 together. I’m a huge fan of socializing with small groups of friends even pre-pandemic (that introvert life) so the fact that it’s now possible and stylish; count. me. in.
As Las Vegas Wedding Photographers – this is a desert location that we shoot a LOT of weddings in – I think you can see why. It’s super unique and far from the pulsing lights of the strip. If you want a romantic and quaint wedding venue- definitely consider this location for your wedding. Chandler and Sophia were absolute dreams to work with – aren’t they the absolute cutest together?! For their styled luxury elopement in the desert there was no idea too big. Live wedding painter? CHECK. Champagne truck? CHECK. We wanted to do something that contradicted each other – and what elements say different things more than “tropical” and “desert”?! First peep these super pretty vow books that are bound in suede and are perfect for your nuptials.
The ceremony setup was intentionally very luxe and provided beautiful contrasts against the brown cracked earth of the lake bed. With lush overflowing florals and accents to the ghost chairs that allowed the copper arch to shine – it was truly awe inspiring. Sirce went SO above and beyond as vendors trickled in they all took cell pictures of the gorgeous arch and wedding bouquet. I mean look at them – how could you not?! With a wide variety of florals and fresh greenery to really make you feel like you’re in Bali or Hawaii.
The wedding dress was seriously beautiful and we made sure to take LOTS of photos of it. – it is the newest dress in Vow’d Weddings collection, titled Whimsical, and is the first time it’s been photographed! Was a serious honor and we tried to do it justice It features intricate details and bountiful layers of chiffon. Vowed is the newest company of the Altard State family and if you’re looking for boutique wedding dresses on a budget – check them out.
The incredibly talented calligrapher and stationery designer, Petite Prints Calligraphy designed a luxury acrylic wedding invitation that WOWed everyone. Peep those hand-drawn florals on the edges. And the added tassel that added so much class to the tropical invitation suite. She is seriously so talented and I can’t emphasize how much her work added to our shoot. And somehow matched incredibly well considering this was drawn and printed way before florals were decided. LOVED how cohesive it all was.
Next up on our rad vendor list is the super sweet (ha. ha. see what I did there?) Joy Pop Co. who specializes in small batch handcrafted popsicles. The perfect addition to your desert wedding to help fend off the beat. Plus the truck is just the cutest addition to any wedding. It’s also owned by the sweetest family so highly recommended if you are a popsicle lover and want to add something really unique to your Las Vegas Wedding. ps. they also ship!
There has become a new trend that we are simply in love with and it’s champagne + beer trucks at weddings. First – they’re adorable. Second – they bring bubble machines. Who doesn’t love bubbles?! Also, it’s just an adorable way to elevate your event and make sure everyone has a really fun time at your wedding. I’ve recommended Bubbles and Brews Vegas to a bunch of my clients now and they are all so smitten. Hope to work with them again in the future!
And you can’t forget to mention a womens bridal outfit and not talk about her shoes! These sparkly heels were SO elegant and gorgeous – perfect for our shoot to add a heightened elegance to her already stunning outfit. Not for the faint of heart though they were 5 inches tall but photographed wonderfully.
I know you’ve probably been skimming this and wondering … “But what about this live wedding painter I heard about?!” His name is Jay Martin and he is ridiculously talented. Here’s some pics of his work and him in action. Live wedding painters have become a pretty big deal in the last two years and I forsee it becoming even more of a trend. Yes wedding photographs are cool (totally biased) but having someone lovingly paint you during your ceremony or first dance – it is guaranteed that there is literally nothing else on the planet that looks like it. So cool!
It was such an honor putting this together and creating some incredible content with such a talented team of vendors. Thank you so much to everyone who participated! Hope to work together again soon. <3

Beautiful! Is a permit needed to have a small quick ceremony at the Dry Lake Bed?
Nope! It’s one of the few places that doesn’t in Vegas. Unfortunately, I do imagine that will change at some point because they have been rapidly expanding the amount of solar panels there.
