Jayna and Nico had the most romantic Winter Wedding at Wedgewood Weddings in Las Vegas, Nevada. They had their heart set on a winter wedding to pay homage to their love of all things winter. They met at the University of Portland where Nico was an exchange student from Spain and plays professional soccer.
The proposal
Nico proposed by flying to Hawaii secretly (Where Jayna lived and surprising her at the front door (Jayna’s sister was in the loop and helped plan it out perfectly!). Jayna freaked out because she had NO idea Nico was in Hawaii. That night before bed, Nico pulled out a ring and proposed. They spent the weekend exploring Maui and spending time with Jayna and her family.
vision for their wedding
Our couple wanted to have a luxurious jewel toned soiree that combined playful colors like plum with a navy blue, maroon, and evergreens. One of the first movies we watched together was the Grinch Stole Christmas (the. brides favorite), so it was important to her that they have a Winter wedding. On that note, Nico absolutely hated the movie but he put up with it because of how much Jayna loved it. Their wedding invitation was designed by Jessica Wynar, and was a unique jewel toned cutout with a plum ribbon and finalized with a gold-copper seal. It was absolutely stunning and we’re obsessed with all the gorgeous details that our couple had.
They got to know each other by studying together, walking around Portland, and showing each other where they grew up via Google Maps.

Nico incorporated a traditional wedding lasso into his groom outfit, which symbolized his love for Jayna and is traditionally done in Catholic-Spanish weddings. It was a sweet homage to his background and we love that he incorporated such a special tradition. Jayna included special money dances into the wedding that tied into her Native roots as well as being adorned with island flowers during the reception.
