Kaitlyn and Jacob had the most beautiful ceremony on a rainy bay area day. Their ceremony was held at Valley Presbyterian Church in Portola Valley and it is one of the prettiest churches I have ever documented a wedding at. The ceremony backdrop was shaped like a triangle with sweeping views of the redwood forest behind them. It was picture perfect and you could hear the raindrops hitting the windows outside while they said their nuptials.
Following the ceremony, we did the usual family + wedding party photos and did a mixture of indoor and outdoor. The church was so pretty that it was a little hard to gravitate away from the triangle (especially because it was soooo wet outside and I was worried about the girls in their heels!)
Their wedding party was dressed in stunning floor-length Scarlett red dresses from David’s Bridal and the guys wore Mens Warehouse suits with red ties. Don’t they just look fab?
We were lucky that it had stopped raining so we had some time to wander the beautiful grounds with skyhigh redwood trees, beautiful walking paths and it was the perfect place for Family and couples portraits. After we did family portraits we sent everyone else to the reception venue, Mountain View community center, and had about an hour with the couple just to take romantic photos of them together.
It was so peaceful because there wasn’t a single sound in the forest behind the venue and all we could hear were some droplets of rain coming off the trees from the earlier rain. We found a beautiful area that had a clearing in the forest with a circular stone pattern adorned in the ground which is where we did most of our couples photos and bridal + groom portraits.
Kaitlyn looked AMAAAAAZING (obviously) and wore a stunning off shoulder long-sleeved intricate lace wedding gown from Allure Bridals that suited her perfectly. With floral designs on the bodice and a sweeping train it was both modest and romantic. Paired with her love for Christmas and her red and green bouquet it was very festive and luxurious.
Jacob looked very handsome in his classic black tux and an adorable little red bow tie and boutonniere. Matched perfectly with his shiny black shoes it was a very traditional groom outfit and it worked perfectly on him.
Every detail of their wedding was planned out beautifully with no expense spared. Caitlins father gifted her with the coolest getaway car, a Stutz 8. Classic cars are becoming extremely popular at weddings and this was no exception. It was so dang rad. Rad. That’s literally the best word I can think of when I look at the car because really, SWAG. Retro vibes for daaaays.
For their reception – scarlett red and evergreen for daaaays.! I absolutely love the holidays and love how they incorporated Christmas into their wedding. Their cake was one of the cutest things I’ve ever seen, I swear. They had pinecone toppers – one with a little top hat, and the other with a little veil. How fricking adorable is that?!
For table settings they continued with the red and for their gifts to their guests – a cute little wrapped box filled with treats.
And what Christmas themed wedding would be complete without a Christmas tree amirite?!
Wishing these cuties nothing but the happiest and most joyful of lives together.
