Stephanie and Michael got married at the Old St. Mary’s Chapel in Rocklin, California last weekend. I’ve worked at a lot of churches and I may have a new favorite chapel. It’s a toss-up between the one I’m getting married at (Little Chapel on the Corner in Henderson, Nevada!) but this one is equally cute, honestly.
It’s a solid white with a bell at the top that is rung when couples are done saying their nuptials. The interior is cozy but very comfortable with stark white shutters on all the beautiful marquee shaped windows. The pews are a beautiful navy velvet color that provides a welcomed contrast against the off-white walls. The church was originally built in 1883 and was restored in the early 2000s to re-create the original design.
Also an important note – look. at. that. arch. Pretty, right? Well let me be upfront and give credit where credit is due – their families built it. Like, polished the wood, sawed from scratch. My mind was ABSOLUTELY blown when they told me that they built it. Their whole wedding was actually really interesting in that it was a huge undertaking from both of the families. Of course, there’s often familial help with weddings but Michael + Stephanie’s wedding was more an example of this than any other wedding I’ve documented this year.
Not only did they build the arch but they designed and purchased the florals, did the table arrangements, made the cake and did Stephanie and her bridesmaids makeup. Amazing, right?!
Following the ceremony we did the traditional family photos and wedding party photos. The girls were dressed in cute mint bridesmaid dresses from David’s Bridal and the guys were in snazzy suits from Men’s Wearhouse.

Their wedding reception was held at Blue Goose Event Center in Loomis, California. It’s a really industrial venue that is perfect for wedding receptions. With a steel exterior and open floor planned wooden and steel interior it’s the perfect place for all your friends and family to hang out for the evening. Neighboring the Event Center is their Produce Market where they have farmers markets every Wednesday. I love seeing local businesses thrive and built community in their cities and I think that Blue Goose is a great example of that. Funnily enough, one of my brides this upcoming weekend used to live right next to Blue Goose! Even though her wedding in in Vegas it seems like everyone who has been here has fond memories of it.
Wishing these cuties the happiest of lives together. <3
