Magical Engagement Photos at The Palm Springs Windmills

Anastasia and Kevin wanted to incorporate an epic location into their Palm Springs engagement photos and I knew JUST the place. What is more epic than one of the largest windmill sites in the entire world for photos? I feel like the windmills are the icon of Palm Springs these days and they have become a huge tourist attraction. They are seriously marvelous to look at so I totally understand why people visit from all over just to see the windmills. It was also vastly different than the earlier session I did with them at The Saguaro Palm Springs.

At The Saguaro we focused on more kitschy and boho vibes for their photos and the windmills are the complete opposite of that. The Palm Springs Desert is open, airy and straight up magical; perfect place for desert engagement or wedding photos. With almost white sand and rocks and traditional desert landscape – it is only accentuated by the larger than life windmills that you can see for miles on end.

I actually have spoken about the Palm Springs Windmills before because it made it onto my list of the Best Places to do Engagement Photos in Palm Springs. Be sure to check it out and get some inspiration for your engagement or wedding photos in Palm Springs. It’s a bit of a trek outside of Palm Springs proper but is worth it. They wore appropriate business casual attire for their palm springs desert engagement photos with Kevin wearing a smart plaid button up and fitted jeans. Anastasia looked GORRRRRGEOUS in her blue floral flowy dress that blew gently in the desert breeze. aka looked AMAZING. And their engagement session got a little HOT … and not the weather even though yes, it was scorching out too

After all that HEAT you gotta cool down, right?! No really, after the session I was drenched in sweat and ready for air conditioning and darkness. But swing by Windmill Market which is AMAZING after your session. It is the perfect way to cool off after your palm springs engagement photos or wedding photos. They are unique to the Palm Springs area which is famous for its variety of dates that are grown in the desert. I’m not even a huge dates fan and I was head over heels after my first shake. It’s now my after shoot tradition to stop by Windmill after every session and hang out in their backyard to look at photos from the session. Trust me and check it out.
