Intimate Hollins House Wedding in Santa Cruz, California

Congratulations to our lovely Hollins House Wedding couple! They were seriously the sweetest and waited basically forever to get married. Yep, they were planning on getting married in May of 2020. We all know how that goes. Fast forward to 2022 – they finally got to say their I-Do’s and we are over the moon. This gorgeous golf course venue was the perfect place to celebrate their special day. With peekaboo views of the ocean, it was a magical setting for their Santa Cruz wedding. If you love the ocean, this is definitely a venue for you to consider.

Details of this gorgeous Hollins House Wedding

Hollins House is one of the best wedding venues in Santa Cruz for a wedding (seriously!). Originally built in 1854, Hollins House is a beautifully restored Victorian mansion with stunning gardens and sweeping views. The Hollins House staff were so helpful and accommodating, and made sure our couple’s wedding day was perfect. Estate weddings are really popular in Santa Cruz, and we can really see why. Hollins House is the perfect combination of elegance and relaxed California vibes. The most important aspect of their wedding was to make sure their guests had a great time. With most of their wedding attendees being from Canada, this Spring wedding was the perfect way to end the cold streak back home. So this ensued a lot of dancing, and it was seriously gorgeous.

It was really important to our bride to bring in aspects of her Native heritage. She opted for a traditional Indian ceremony that incorporated an owl feather into their exchange – coupled with smoke and an ancient ritual. It was the first time we saw something like this, and we were here for it.

Color Scheme and Vibes

Our couple opted for a stunning purple color scheme that was paired with fresh greens and whites. For their reception, they had it indoors and it was incredibly intimate with the cozy fireplace, high walls, and embossed ceilings. The grounds are perfect for amazing couples photos: the Hollins House gardens are beautiful with ivy-covered walls, a gazebo, and a pond. There’s also an incredible view of the Santa Cruz coastline from the Hollins House property. You can’t really have a California wedding without it having ocean views, right? Right?

final thoughts

This laidback and upscale vibe was perfect for our couple and we can’t wait to be back for another wedding. Wishing them nothing but the happiest of lives together! If they made it through a pandemic, we’re sure they’ll make it through anything else life throws at them.
