Amil and Katie flew out to Las Vegas from San Jose, California to have their dream Las Vegas wedding. They invited about 50 of their closest friends and family Since they’re both vegans, the Wynn was a perfect choice for them. The Wynn was actually founded by a vegan so every single restaurant on site has a multitude of vegan options for diners which is awesome. Something I bet you didn’t know, huh?
They have a really cute love story and I’ll let them tell you all about it. <3
Katie wore sparkly Badgley Mischka heels and some beautiful accessories to pay tribute to her family. Note the locket below which is a really sweet idea to incorporate into your wedding.
She had a beautiful pear shaped engagement ring that was surrounded by smaller diamonds. Matching with the elegant wedding band of small diamonds it was a beautiful combination. For Amil’s wedding band he had a simple silver with a line of blue sapphire in the middle.
Their colors for the day were blush and pantone blue which you can see below – and it makes a fabulous contrast and perfect wedding colors.
Unfortunately, and this is important, I was unable to document their ceremony. One of the downsides of doing a Las Vegas Strip Wedding is that most of the venues do not allow outside photographers. The reason for this is they hire someone in-house that they pay a low hourly wage to who shoots all their weddings. For the photographer to make a decent wage – it is their job and responsibility to make that money up themselves. How? By selling you the rights to any and all of your photos. This can range from $25-50 PER PHOTO to download the high resolution photo. Not prints, just the digital. For this reason – they don’t allow outside photographers like myself to come in. So if you care about your wedding day photography ask your venue what their photo policy is. Some allow external photographers if you pay them an additional $750+. Some just don’t allow it in general. If they DO, the fee is just to not have their venue photographer there. Crazy, right? So definitely ask. I have been asked by multiple venues to be a photographer there and I simply dislike the business model of withholding photos and holding them hostage to upsell to couples later. My business model is to charge enough to support myself in the beginning and then to give you ALL the best edited ones. No additional charges. All inclusive, no surprises. I don’t want my couples to have to pick a few of their favorites just because they can’t afford all of them. However, this is simply how the venues on the strip operate and make their money. If that matters to you – please get married off strip or be prepared for an unknown photographer to take your wedding ceremony photos. And then pay a bunch to even be able to download them.
I know I have a lot of loyal followers that love reading my blog and following along on my photographic journey so I don’t want you to think I lost the ceremony photos or something, haha. That being said – after their ceremony we took some b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l photos at the Wynn. Since Amil + Katie got married on December 28th (The last Saturday of the year!) everything on the Strip was still decorated with Christmas lights and ornaments which made for some really unique and interesting photos.
Their reception at Panevino was absolutely beautiful. As I mentioned earlier, both of them are vegan so of course, they had a vegan wedding cake. It was a gorgeous three tier cake surrounded by strawberries, blackberries and blueberries. It was an extremely elegant wedding cake and I can’t believe it was vegan – it was absolutely delicious!
For their tablescape they stuck with pantone blue and contrasted it with beautiful whites and silver tones.
Wishing these lovebirds nothing but the happiest of lives together!
