Erika and Brendan tied the knot on September 30th, 2020 at The Grove Las Vegas. Unfortunately, this wedding was supposed to happen back when the almond blossom trees were in full bloom back in late March, but the world changed dramatically around the same time when COVID-19 hit the United States. After two postponements and continuous uncertainty about when they could finally get married.. they said screw it life is too short; let’s get married.
They decided to downsize their large Las Vegas wedding to only their closest friends and family. I have so much respect for all my COVID brides + couples. I personally got married in January so I just dodged the COVID bullet but … you’re having to re-envision your entire dream wedding. On short notice. During a pandemic. That takes so much strength and perseverance. I, of course, have been standing strong with all of my couples encouraging them along and being as flexible as I can be but I know how hard it is on everyone. So it’s really encouraging when I see these new, small and condensed micro-weddings that are still full of just as much love as large weddings.
Intimate weddings are hot hot hot right now and honestly it makes the day so much more relaxed and peaceful. When you don’t have to worry about corralling 100 guests — you can enjoy your day a LOT easier. Look how relaxed these lovebirds look! I love being a Vegas Wedding Photographer right now – it’s kind of bringing it back to its roots – intimate Las Vegas weddings with less guests and more love. Kinda digging it.
With 30 of their closest friends and family, they said their nuptials under a minimalist bare arch with beautiful lush greenery as their backdrop at sunset.
In addition to the perfect lighting during their ceremony, The Grove is literally an enchanted garden wedding venue tucked away in Las Vegas far from the neon lights. With fairy lights wrapped around the almond trees lining the walkway to the ceremony site. Like I said … literal magic. After the ceremony we had the last bits of light which we took FULL advantage of to get some magical golden hour photos.
As a total side note, one of the reasons The Grove is one of my favorite venues in Las Vegas to my couples that are having weddings of any size is they allow outside photographers with no extra fee. As I’ve mentioned in past blog posts, Las Vegas Wedding Venues are unfortunately really keen on keeping everything in house and cookie cutter. Many venues in Las Vegas force you to use their in-house photographer and you are not allowed to bring in your dream photographer (hopefully me! haha). Thankfully, The Grove is NOT like that. They allow you to bring in your own photographer for no fee. Some venues charge you $750 to bring in your own photographer. Absolutely nuts! And The Grove is not just some ol’ crappy strip venue – it’s a high quality, well run, garden wedding venue in Las Vegas. Which is RARE. So take advantage and get married here (and bring me with you!!)
In addition to the gorgeous garden venue exterior, the reception area can be held al fresco or they have an indoors room that’s perfect for summer months to avoid the heat. It is a pretty minimalist space that can be dressed up or left completely alone! With white walls, white ceilings and a smattering of string lights it’s a perfect spot for a reception.
You may have noticed that their color themes were a mauve, blush, and white; remember that their wedding was supposed to happen in Spring! But also, you’re allowed to have your wedding colors be whatever you want, any season of the want. Just because it’s a Fall wedding, don’t feel obligated to have deep Fall-inspired colors for your wedding. If anything, this gorgeous wedding proves you can go against tradition and it’s still awesome.
So glad that through all the turmoil that has been 2020 we could take the opportunity to take pause and have a day full of love at this perfect las vegas intimate wedding. Wishing these babes nothing but the happiest and healthiest of lives together.
