April and Andrew got married on September 29th, 2019 at the beautiful Wedgewood Las Vegas surrounded by 100+ of their closest friends and families that flew from all over the world to be there. I’ll preface this post by saying that they have the CUTEST love story.
They met online 8 years ago and lived an ocean apart from each other. April from Hawaii, and Andrew from San Jose, California. They met in a chat room and with a lot of smooth talking from Andrew finally won over April. They talked online daily until April flew out to San Jose a few months after nonstop communication. She fell in love with Andrew even more and made the move across an ocean to be with him in California. That’s “Trieu love” right there, ammirite?!
Fast forward a few years and as Andrew so eloquently puts it –
“8 years worth of memories later and we’re now parents to a beautiful daughter; relocated our lives to Las Vegas where I finally proposed in 2017. While this is an old story, the new chapter of our lives has just begun.” – Andrew (April’s husband)
April herself wore a beautiful white with gray undertone dress from Willowby Watters which specializes in unique and boho wedding dresses. The design, the Galatea, is a beautiful A-Line dress. Wrapped around the bodice was a velvet ribbon and the look was completed with a delicate bow on the back. It had beautiful leafy patterns with layers upon layers of gorgeous fine chiffon. She paired it with a long and simple veil that accented the understated and modern design.
The venue they picked, Wedgewood Las Vegas, is absolutely perfect. They have a gorgeous outdoor ceremony location that is on a golf course with lush greenery and amazing colors. Couples can pick the color of the linens in the aisle, and the couple chose a light pink to complement the pastel and airy vibes of the day.
Behind the ceremony is a few willow trees which are ideal for photos. Unfortunately, willow trees are not common here in Las Vegas so it was an extra special treat to have some on site. Beyond that, there’s a lot of lush greenery, a golf course (I really love golf course weddings honestly. Everything is always impeccable) and a few ponds which are perrrrfect photo ops.
And then it was time for their reception which was absolutely FIRE. Them and their bridal party entered to “Tell Me When to Go by Keak Da Sneak which is a Bay Area CLASSIC. I loved how they incorporated Andrew’s Bay Area roots into their wedding. Everyone who was from the Bay Area started screaming as soon as the song came on and it was absolutely epic.
Andrew is Vietnamese-American so they followed up their first dance by changing into traditional Vietnamese outfits and with his family doing an amazing lion dance for them. Spoiler alert: It was amazing. At the end of the dance (and some firecracker/confetti cannons!) they presented the bride + groom with oranges which symbolize good luck.
Continuing with their pastel and dreamy color scheme they had a variety of details around that was also overflowing with light pinks, dusty rose, and lush greenery to round it out. Peep those succulents in the bouquet too! Absolutely gorgeous.
The brides side was dressed in pastel (light pink, dusty blue, and lavender) Azazie dresses/suits which looked STUNNING. The grooms side was in smart blue suits and all had unique socks.
It was such an honor to be a part of such a celebratory day and I am so grateful that they picked me to document their wedding day. Wishing you two cuties nothing but the absolute best.
