Modern Las Vegas Elopement – Las Vegas Sign + Strip Adventure

Las Vegas sign wedding

Mathieu and Maria decided to elope in the beautiful city of Las Vegas last weekend! They flew all the way from Saskatchewan, Canada to make it happen and I’m honored they chose me to document their special day. Unfortunately, I wasn’t allowed in to the Chapel of Flowers to take their photos there (per their policy). So it’s an important thing to note that if you’re getting married at the Graceland Wedding Chapel that you will have to use their on site photographer. I’ll leave it without saying – tens of couples have hired me AFTER their ceremonies because they had a certain vision for their day of bright, beautiful images. The personalization you get with hiring a photographer directly and picking them yourself is a very special moment. So if you’re having a Las Vegas Wedding – make sure to ask about their photographer policy and bringing in someone whose work you love. And if they’re against it (As a lot of Vegas elopement venues are – I’ll meet you outside as you exit your ceremony. 🙂

These are the memories that deserved to be documented in a way that really tells your love story.

It was an intimidating 102 degrees out but love really has no bounds. These two were full of smiles and laughter as we waited our turn to take a few pictures in front of the iconic Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Sign. I’m grateful they picked this spot because while I’ve driven past it hundreds of time I never actually stopped to take any photos in front of it. That changed today! The Welcome to Las Vegas sign has been renovated and cleaned up recently so we’re some of the first to have photos in front of the cleaned up version. Super exciting!

Las Vegas elopement

Mathieu donned a stunning lavender suit which he paired with a striped steel blue and grey tie. And of course, what better to accent this lovely combination than a MASSIVE boutonniere?! A rosy pink protea with lush bright poking out from the sides it complemented his outfit perfectly.

After we finished up at the sign we headed down to the strip. There is nothing in the world that is like the Las Vegas Strip. While people associate the strip with boisterous laughter, drunken shenanigans, and pool parties —- there is a much softer and quieter side to it that can be found. We found this gorgeous patio in front of the Bellagio overlooking the Eiffel Tower and took some time to just enjoy the moment. Matthieu and Maria danced ( in her beautiful Tamara Mellon heels!)

A gentle moment between the two of them as they sat in front of the Bellagio Fountain. Note Maria’s gorgeous ruby flower necklace she is donning.

Bouquet full of different pinks, corals, and greenery. All tied together with a burlap fabric.

Bellagio garden wedding

The Bellagio Gardens are simply breathtaking. While it IS normally filled to the brim with tourists it can be maneuvered in a way that makes you feel like you’re the only ones there. With overflowing lemon trees behind them it created the perfect contrast between their more light and bright outfits against forest greens and yellow backdrop. What a special session it was.

They were SO heart eyed for one another and couldn’t stop smiling and laughing together. Couples who laugh today stay together. Being able to be your true and authentic self around your partner is SO important. You will be with them almost every day for the rest of your life – make sure every day is full of laughter.
